Mr. Billy was a smiling presence at Union United Methodist Church all my life, and often came to tell me how much he enjoyed whatever I had played that day. He was always willing to help anyone who needed him, and also had a good story to tell most of the time. My love and concern to his family, especially Mrs. Laverne, who took such good care of him.

So sorry to hear of Billy's passing. He was a good good man. I remember going to Billy and Laverne's wedding (in 1954?) at Brantley Methodist Church and how they decorated his car (think they even lifted hood and put sardines in there--he looked at their efforts and just kept smiling because he now was married to the love of his live Laverne). My yearbook has picture of him and the other bus drivers--he was always working. When my Dad ("Tom") would see Billy coming he would smile and light up and he and Billy would kid and joke with each other. Remember Clements was in hospital in Columbus and Billy, Frank and Billy Mack visited him--always caring for others. He will be greatly missed by so many. May God comfort and bless the family reassured by Jesus' words ..."In my Father's house are many mansions--I go to prepare a place for you." Donnie and Delores Powell

I am so sorry to read about Mr. Billy. He was very much a face to the Farm Credit that Tom knew and worked for. We never went up State Route 41 that Tom did not comment about Big Chief Mill and what a nice place it was.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you in the upcoming days.
